Common questions
What does IS-AI Systems do?
IS-AI Systems is a software, app, and AI development consultancy. We design and build custom applications, mobile apps, SaaS products, utilities, internal tools, and AI features for small businesses and product teams, then hand over code the client owns outright.
What does IS-AI mean?
IS-AI is the founder's name, Isai, split in half — and it is also the first question we ask a client: is AI working for you, or are you working for it?
The question is not rhetorical. Plenty of teams have adopted AI tools that added steps instead of removing them: another tab to check, another output to verify, another subscription. Others have a workflow where a language model would genuinely remove hours of manual work and have not tried it. The opening conversation is about establishing which of those you are, because the answers lead to completely different projects — and sometimes to no project at all.
Where is IS-AI Systems based?
IS-AI Systems is based in Texas, United States, and works with clients remotely worldwide. Projects run over email, video calls, and a shared issue tracker, so location is rarely a constraint. Time zone overlap is agreed before a project starts.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
We take on custom software that is too specific for off-the-shelf products: Android and cross-platform mobile apps, web applications and SaaS, AI tools and integrations, internal automation, systems integration, and short technical consulting engagements. Projects range from a single-purpose utility to a multi-tenant product.
How much does custom software or an app cost?
Cost depends on scope, and published packages are still being finalized. As a general guide, a focused single-purpose utility is a small fixed-price project, while a multi-user product with accounts, billing, and admin is a substantially larger one. You get a written scope and a number before any code is written, and any change to that number is raised in the week it comes up.
How long does it take to build an app?
A narrowly scoped mobile app or internal tool typically reaches a working first release in a few weeks. A product with user accounts, payments, and an admin interface usually takes several months. Store review adds its own time on top: Google Play review commonly takes a few days but can run longer for a new developer account.
Do you build Android apps and publish them to Google Play?
Yes. That includes the parts around the code: store listing copy, screenshots, the Data Safety declaration, privacy policy hosting, release tracks, staged rollouts, crash reporting, and post-launch updates. Google Play requires a publicly reachable privacy policy URL, which is one of the reasons this site exists.
Can you add AI to software we already have?
Yes, and the first step is checking whether you should. We look at the specific workflow, what a wrong answer would cost, and whether a simpler approach would beat a language model on accuracy and running cost. Where AI genuinely helps, it gets added to your existing system with the per-request cost, data retention, and failure behavior agreed in writing first.
Who owns the code you write?
You do. Source code, repositories, cloud accounts, domains, and app store listings are in your name and under your control from the start. Ongoing maintenance is offered as a service you can decline at any time, not as a lock-in.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance and support?
Yes. Maintenance covers dependency and security updates, operating system and store policy changes, bug fixes, monitoring, and small enhancements. It is a separate agreement from the build, and it is optional.
How do I get a quote?
Email a short description of what you are trying to build, along with any deadline or budget constraints. You will get a reply within two business days containing an honest answer on fit, an estimate range, and a recommended first step. There is no charge for the initial conversation.
What happens after I send the first email?
You get a reply within two business days with three things: an honest answer on whether this is a good fit, an estimate range, and a recommended first step. If it is not a fit, you are told that directly rather than being sold something adjacent. There is no charge for the initial conversation and no obligation to continue.
Do you work with businesses outside Texas?
Yes. IS-AI Systems is based in Texas and works with clients across the United States and internationally. Projects run over email, video calls, and a shared issue tracker, so location is rarely a constraint. Time zone overlap is agreed before a project starts, and for clients more than six hours away we set a fixed window of hours when questions get same-day answers.
What technologies do you build with?
Android applications in Kotlin, cross-platform work where it earns its place, and web applications on mainstream, well-supported stacks rather than whatever is trending. Databases are usually PostgreSQL. Hosting is chosen to match the project rather than a preferred vendor. For AI features we are model-agnostic and select based on cost, accuracy, and data handling for your specific workflow, not on brand.
